Aolian Republic Forces: Sign Up (updated 10/31/12)

Base-Race: Aolian (Human)

The Aolian Republic had stood for nearly thirteen thousand years before it's fall six months ago to the Ak'mRa Hegemony. Aolians generally have fair to lightly dark complected skin, and come in a variety of different hair & eye colors. Though brought to near extinction by the enemy, many Aolians still cling to life and can be found around what remains of the shattered Republic and it's colonies. While help from the remaining Valorans may be a long way off, many still hold out hope their creation can beat back the tide and take back the Republic. But until that day they will wait, watch, and fight back as best they can.

Aolia: The race from which the Republic takes its name. Thousands of years ago, they united all of mankind under one banner... theirs. Since then they have evolved their sphere of influence to include the farthest reaches of their spiral arm of the galaxy. More suited to governance and scientific research than military service, most Aolians lived comfortable lives, and few ever ventured to live them in the military, and of those who did, they likely did it out of a deep sense of family tradition.

Brecca: An offshoot of the Aolian race, to be born of the Brecante was to be destined to live out a life filled with strife, danger, and violence. Most Brecca often live out their lives on the wrong side of the law just to make ends meet, otherwise likely be a victim or worse... killed. As your prototypical roguish race, Brecante make up a large percentage of the criminal underground. Bounty hunters, mercenaries, pirates, and thieves. You name it, they've likely done it.

Calta: Another offshoot of the Aolian race, the Caltese had long been the warrior arm of the Republic and proudly served as its primary military benefactor until the Republic introduced Valorans into mainstream production. Despite this, many Caltese continued to serve in the Republic military and are still a common sight amongst its ranks, even with their reduced numbers.

Super-Soldiers: Valoran

Valora: The base from which all other super-soldiers are made. Valorans combine the best traits from all over the Republic and provide the backbone of the Aolian Military. With a jack-of-all trades design mentality, Valorans excel at all areas of combat but don't particularly stand out in any one given area, unlike their successive generations. Due to their status as the first super-soldiers created by the Republic, Valorans can be found in all branches of its service, and are the most prevalent of all wartypes.

Cana: Canai are the refined second generation super-soldiers created by the Republic, and are solely geared towards infantry based combat. Whether it be by ground or mobile armor, and unlike their predecessors, Canai are utterly lethal at squad based warfare and often prefer to outwit or out-tactic their enemy into submission. To be a Cana means to hold a loyalty to ones brethren above all else, except the Republic.

Ursa: While all Valorans are bred for battle, Ursai are more at home in it than any other wartype. Strong of body, these powerful second generation Valorans are the only wartype to use power armor on a regular basis and serve as the heavy shock troopers of the Aolian Military. Aggressive to a fault, they are the most likely wartype to rush into battle than any other super-soldier, but they are also the most likely to walk away from it as well.

Draka: Drakana are the refined second generation super-soldiers serving the Republic as dedicated fleet and air-arm personnel. At home in either space, air, and water combat zones, these wartypes bring the fight to the enemy with a single minded determination to save their Republic. Above all other wartypes the Draka's sense of duty and honor define who they are. It has been noted by several different independent investigations that a good number of Drakana can prevail and see a mission through when their fellow Valoran brethren cannot.

Valkyra: The only third generation super-soldier currently in production. The Valkyrans are the latest genetic wartype to see combat use within the Aolian Military. Currently serving as an elite group of spec-op's troops, they have been termed ultra-soldiers by Republic High Command due to their being a huge leap forward in genetic bio-engineering. While their numbers are still too few to turn the tide for the Republic, they are the next step in furthering its cause against the Ak'mRa Hegemony.

(( Note 1: All Valorans have only a single name then a serial number after that, generally their first name followed by a four digit string with some letters mixed in then a two to four digit number with a single letter mixed in. All Valorans use this single letter in the final digit sequence to usually denote the first letter in their Standardized Moniker/Callsign. Example: Barrett 8192NC-G29, In this case the G stands for Ghoul. ))

Skills: Blowing shit up, kicking in doors, causing all sorts of generalized mayhem, and his personal favorite... a slight overt tendency to rip apart the enemy with his bare hands when he's got nothing else handy.

Weapons: Will generally use whatever comes to hand or is available, but prefers using heavier weaponry such as light machine guns and on up. Barrett will also endeavor to use power armor whenever possible, and when he does... it's highly recommended that you duck, or lose your head.

Character Bio: For a Ursa, Barrett is surprisingly laid back and cool headed both on and off the battlefield, although he does have his limits. A veteran of at least ten major engagements and countless smaller ones during his long service career. It was inevitable that he be given his own unit to command, a unit that then had long served Barrett for many years until they and he last saw action on the republic capital of Terra during its fall to the Ak'mRa Hegemony six months ago. Barrett still seethes at both their and its loss. With his homeplanet now at stake, he will do whatever it takes to keep it safe and beat back the enemy, all the while he gets some much needed payback for Terra, the Republic, and himself while he's at it.

Skills : Trained since the Biotube to become a pilot, she can operate just about anything you ask her to. If it moves, flies, swims or is operable in anyway, shape or form, she can take the helm.

Weapons: Will usually carry a standard service pistol, she will also sometimes use whatever else is handy at the time. Though if she has to use any of these... she's likely not done her job properly.

Character Bio: With only a couple of years of active duty under her belt, Rayne is still slightly inexperienced in combat operations. Despite this, she now finds herself acting in support of Gunnery Sergeant Barrett and his ad-hoc squad as they make their way from one wayward mission to another in defense of Talos.

Skills:
Len is rather knowladgeable in tracking and roles involving assistance. In other words he is able to play a support role easily, acting as the medic and so on and so forth. His mechanical body making him more resiliant in harsher situations. Len is also able to learn at an accellerated rate, meaning he can be tought to fit into other roles if he became obsolite or unneeded in another.

Weapons: since len was built primarily as an assistance archtype he dosn't have much in the way of built in weapons. Instead he would have to be eqquipped or fitted with useable weapons. Aside from this len has the typical set of defence for those with a higher technological background, strong shields, mechanical strength, the ability to transfer and store data within himself and so on and so forth

Character Bio: len seems rather 'touchy' on his past. Not really wanting to talk about it to anyone he isn't fermiliar with. All that is known is that he is where he is and he wishes to assist.((Background will have to be found out IC

Skills: Standard infantryman skill set. However has remarkable hearing for a Cana (not that he seems to use it all that much)

Weapons: Prefers to carry assault rifles though will use support weapons as needed.

Character Bio: The source of much frustration Kent is not the kind of soldier that one would think would have stayed alive this long. But despite the odds and his apparent insanity he has managed to rank up a number of successful missions and drops, to the point that he would already be under the command of his own unit were it not for his behavioral and personality issues.

Character Bio: Dec is a descendent of a long line of Soldiers in the Aolian Military. As such he is not too fond of the concept of being replaced by the Valorans, though does not carry a grudge against them and treats them like any other fellow solider. Because he is only a Calta, Dec trains himself rigorously in order to try to keep up with the super soldiers. Dec has an affinity for tech and enjoys messing with anything from small gadgets to vehicles. An example of this is the cybernetic arm that he designed after losing his real one in an explosion that wiped out half of his squad.

Right then, updated my post with a small edit to and a bio for Barrett and added my secondary char Rayne.

I also did some light editing of other posts to smooth appearances overall.
